Programs needed:
- Sony Vegas 6.0 or higher
- Counter-Strike 1.6
- Fraps (BEGINNER, once you master this method move onto startmovie/vdub)
Chapter 1
Step 1, setting up fraps.
- Open up fraps, i reccomend using the full version which is located here
- Select the “Movies” tab in fraps, and type in 120 fps.
Step two, Setting up the Movie Making Config.
- What the movie making config does is it takes away the HLTV borders, it takes away all the HUD and the text, so when you record its nice and plain.
- I reccomend using my personal movie making config because it includes everything you’ll need. including weapon models/sprites. it is located here
- I also reccomend you have an extra steam account (it can be VAC banned) for movie making, this way you wont have to switch back and forth from your playing config and your movie making config.
Step three, recording the clip with fraps.
- once you have downloaded fraps full version and have installed the movie making config, you’ll finally be ready to start recording some shots.
- Open up cs, open up console (default key [~]), type “viewdemo demo.dem”.
- Find where you want to record, and hit the default record key with fraps (f9). Let it record then stop it by pressing f9 again.
Chapter 2
Now that you’re done recording in fraps you’re finally ready for vegas!
Step 1 - Importing the clip
- Import the clip you recorded earlier. (FILE > IMPORT > MEDIA)
- The default destination for clips recorded by fraps is (C:\\Fraps\)
Step two - Coloring.
- Next you’ll want to color your clip a little bit, by doing that we’re going to be using the following “Color Balance”, “Brightness and Contrast”, and “Sony Glow”, if you need help on finding where to do this, look at this screen shot.- Here is what your should put for each of the values
· Brightness and Contrast · Color Balance · Sony Glow.
Step three - Rendering - Rendering the clip is the last part to making your first clip.
- Here is a screenshot of what your render setting should look like. - Screen Shot
- If you are confused on how you are getting to the render settings just follow these steps.
(FILE > Render as > Custom)
